Jetpac at $11 for 10GB is a shade under Airalo and we cannot link it. GigSky at $32.99 is the outlier at nearly three times Airalo's price, though it is the one linkable plan that rides Dialog.
Dialog, Mobitel and Hutch the coverage question
Dialog is the largest operator and has the best reach into the north, the east coast and the national parks. If your route is Jaffna, Trincomalee or a lot of safari, it is the network you would choose.
Mobitel, the state operator's mobile arm, is a strong second and covers the south coast, the hill country and the Colombo corridor properly. Hutch is the budget network, fine in the towns and thinner in between.
The awkward part: the two cheapest plans here ride Mobitel and Hutch, not Dialog. For the classic Colombo, Kandy, Ella, south-coast loop that is entirely fine. For the north and east, the Dialog gap is real and the only linkable way onto it costs $32.99.

Dialog and Mobitel both run counters in the arrivals hall at Colombo airport, open for essentially every flight, and the tourist packs are famously generous: large data allowances plus local calls for the equivalent of a few dollars, registered against your passport at the desk.
It is genuinely one of the better airport SIM offers in Asia, and it is the easy way onto Dialog. The counters are also right where you walk out, which is not true everywhere.
The eSIM case here is narrower than usual because Sri Lankan travel eSIM data is already cheap: $11.50 for 10GB is not a price worth queuing to beat if you value landing connected, a working ride-hailing app before the taxi touts reach you, and no passport photocopy.

Is Dialog or Mobitel better for tourists?
Dialog has the widest island-wide reach, including the north, east and the national parks. Mobitel covers the standard tourist loop, Colombo through Kandy, Ella and the south coast, entirely adequately. Most travel eSIMs ride Mobitel and Hutch rather than Dialog.
How much data do I need for two weeks in Sri Lanka?
Around 6 to 10GB. Guesthouse wifi is common and often slow, so your eSIM does more work than in Japan or Singapore. At Airalo's prices, buying 10GB rather than 5GB costs about $2.50, so take the larger one.
Do regional Asia eSIMs cover Sri Lanka?
Most do: GigSky, Airalo, Saily, Yesim, Nomad and Ubigi all include Sri Lanka in their regional Asia plans. Jetpac's does not, though it sells a local Sri Lanka plan. Given how cheap local plans are here, the regional plan is only worth it if you are genuinely crossing borders.

In patches. The famous hill-country stretch runs through tunnels and deep valleys where every network drops, Dialog included. Download offline maps and your entertainment before boarding, and treat the seven hours as an intentional break.
